what do your like about them?
who created them and when?
what effects have been used?
speak about compostion, lighting, line, shape, movement, transitions and the links between imagery and song – what are the thoughts behind the visual (is it a metaphor for something? does it link to the beat of the song? does it link to the branding of the band/ artist)
I like this video because its different and there hasn’t been a video made like this because its all animations and drawn and shows creativity.
‘Yellow Submarine is a 1968 British animated musical fantasy film based on the music of The Beatles.
The film was directed by animation producer George Dunning, and produced by United Artists (UA) and King Features Syndicate. Initial press reports stated that the Beatles themselves would provide their own character voices, however, aside from composing and performing the songs, the real Beatles participated only in the closing scene of the film, while their cartoon counterparts were voiced by other actors.’
The effects that has been used in the video is imagery the video uses cartoons’ throughout the whole video to make the song sound child-like which was the purpose of the song when The Beatles wrote it. The link between the song and video is good because the song is child-like and so is the video which makes the purpose of the song a and video very obvious. The transitions used are jumpy, slow and all are very colourful.
